I am home from the hospital, and while confined there for four weeks, I focused on spreading awareness about the stem cell/bone marrow registry.
One of the highlights, was being on the front page of The Westerly Sun newspaper Sunday paper as well as being featured online. In addition to this feature, my daughter’s high school held a donor drive, and my son’s school sent home a flyer with information on how to register.
I must share some personal experiences with you: while in the hospital, I would see transplant patients each day, as they walked the floor and built up their strength, but also saw the heart-breaking pain of families who lost a loved one because this person did not have a match, that could have saved their lives.
Please consider educating yourself at bethematch.org and click on transplant basics, and registering at this special link they created in the spirit in my mission: http://join.bethematch.org/jennifermission
