A few weeks back, I told you about the day we spent with our cousins in and around Mystic. On our way home, we made a pit stop at Dunkin Donuts and in front of us in the line there was this exuberant woman who told us that she just opened an Organic food store and invited us to come try free samples.
We said ‘Okay!’ and headed on over with the kids to get us some samples and check the store offerings. One item that I purchased that day was a package of pasta made from chickpeas – yup, chickpeas.
The store owner swore it had a much better texture than whole wheat and since any kid that breaths wants pasta for breakfast, lunch and dinner, I figured it was worth the try. We made a fun chicken and marinara sauce dish with the Banza chickpea pasta, and the kids said the loved the meal!
When we asked our son and daughter if they liked the new pasta, they said they didn’t know it was a new kind. In fact, my son was flabbergasted that he ate chickpea pasta.
The best fact here is that this pasta is high protein, high fiber, gluten-free, no GMO, soy free, vegan and has no artificial anything – sweet!
