I have shared many recipes and a good portion of them are gluten-free, but most of the time that was coincidental. However, a few months ago, I shared that my daughter began having stomach problems and a physician told us to go gluten and dairy-free for a few weeks.
As a show of support, I joined her in the ‘diet’ and found that I did feel a bit more energized although the no dairy part was the hardest for both of us. Since then, we have been playing around with more gluten-free recipes. I believe it trying different types of foods and these days, since so many wheat products (although wheat is not the only grain that contains gluten) are so altered from their natural state, I do believe that they can cause irritation, inflammation and not be the healthiest option for our bodies.
Our biggest gluten struggle around here are breads and muffins so I am going to be visiting many of my favorite sites and working on making some gluten-free muffins. In the meantime, the kids love gluten-free muffin & muffin tops from Udi’s. Thank goodness for all the amazing products on the market these days to help us transition our diet to include more gluten-free foods.
For those of you just starting on your gluten-free journey who need some gluten-free recipes for your Thanksgiving menu, I give you these tasty delights:
