In yesterday’s post, I remarked that it has been a tough week. The reason it has been so tough is because we had to say good-bye to our kitty Azria.
Azria was a respectable 16 years old and I had her for 7 years before our first child was born.
I also called her ‘Azzy-boo’, ‘Boo-bear’ and the ever popular ‘Crazy ole’ bat’.
She was always my constant early morning companion and the past few mornings, it has been made me sad to sit here in the wee hours without her.
This is also the first time that our children have had to experience loss and losing a furry family member has been painful, as you would expect.
As the kids noticed her health declining substantially, I encouraged them to make her a card sharing their feelings for her.
In my card, I wrote: ‘My Dearest Azzy, may you romp and chase all the foil balls your little heart desires and do so with no pain. We love you forever!’

Thank you for your kind words Kay. I am amazed that your ‘old man’ lived almost 22 years…..if we could all be so lucky to have our pets for 22 years.

I am so sorry. Does not matter if they are furry and four legged, or feathered, or have gills… our pets are family, who are loved, so unconditionally. I can fully sympathize, Nov 12, we said goodbye to our “old man cat”, Frankie. He was just short of 22 years. I cherish the happy memories of when he made us laugh, made us mad, or simply just made us feel love. I hope you will have happy memories to see you thru as well♥ Hugs!

Thank you Cathy – we did giggle this morning when we opened a milk carton and remembered how Azria would play fetch with the caps.

I’m so, sorry. Losing a pet is just so darn hard. I wish you a good weekend with only happy memories of your fond companion.
