During the past week, you have probably seen the ads for the movie “I Don’t Know How She Does It” with Sarah Jessica Parker (opens on September 16th) and it reminded me that I wanted to share a video about one way I approach trying to balance/manage/organize the home, kiddos, biz, meals etc.
Without further ado, the wall calendar of all wall calendars….
As I mentioned in the video, I love to indulge in a mani/pedi for some ‘me’ time but in order to do so, I need to hunt for deals. Lucky for us and in support of all moms who “do it all,” Eversave is sponsoring a special Back-to-Beauty promotion and today they are featuring spa-centric deals so moms everywhere can save money and enjoy some much needed “me time”.
But before I share the deal AND giveaway (yippee!), I want to some statistics that evershare gathered just in time for the upcoming release of the Sarah Jessica Parker movie I Don’t Know How She Does It. Eversave, one of the top three daily deal sites targeted toward women and their families, surveyed more than 700 mothers to find out how they “do it all.”
In the film, Parker’s character, a working mother, lies awake at night mentally running through her “list” of things she needs to do. In reality, 90 percent of the respondents said they lie awake at night thinking about the things they need to get done. For both mothers who work outside the home and those who parent full-time, the same concerns keep them awake:
*Money stress: 71%
*Worrying about their kids: 53%
*Finding time for their spouse/significant other: 45%
*Preparing meals/managing the household: 33% (oh, I can help with this one!)
With statistics like that, it makes sense that we need some time to destress and relax. The deal that eversave is offering today is a mani/pedi combo. at Salon 2000 in N. Attleboro, Massachusetts. How does $27 for a mani-pedi instead of $55 grab you? Plus, new members use their $3 credit. You know you deserve it!!
What, you want a manicure & pedicure for free? Alrighty then, let’s giveaway two Salon 2000 mani/pedis!

tricks and tips… i swear by mom MomAgenda because that allows me to keep everything organized… but i go a bit overboard because i also tend to end up keeping 2 more calendars… one in the kitchen so i can look quick and another somewhere else (always being moved). and my endless lists. ok, this is sounding disorganized. it’s more like an organized chaos. 🙂

Agree…tips and tricks are a challenge. I do try and get most things done at night once all are snug in bed…I am a night owl…so my alone/me time too. Especially, getting everything done for am…night before is a help…another is having everyone help out…make own bed, have chores…put clothes in laundry room, put own clothes away…PUT the Dishes in washer…hmmm that is a hard one for some reason.
Another thing I have totally stopped is lists or books…it was depressing to me as I never got the list done! And, would always be adding more…so I never felt like I was accomplishing anything.
And, finally, go easy on yourself…it is OK…I have finally learned to not be perfect and to say NO.
Thanks

I have a calendar book that I plan everything in. I have blog posts scheduled weeks in advance, plan meals, and everything else I can possibly fit. I have to learn how to write smaller though, I have too much going on for my big handwriting!

My tips and tricks? Well, I use lots of lists and I try to prep things as much as possible the day before something needs to get done.
