I am at Blogher in NYC right now and thanks to my sponsor, SOYJOY, I have a great soy & fruit bar to keep me fueled. SOYJOY is here spreading the word about their new & improved bar and the new flavors.
To be honest, I am impressed with the new bar. As its’ predecessor, it is still minimally processed, uses whole ground soybeans and real fruit however the bar now has a new baking process. This process results in a moister and fruiter bar that reminds me of almost a cake or cookie-like texture.
Over the past few days, I have been enjoying the blueberry, strawberry and new banana bars. If you are here at Blogher, be sure to stop by the booth to grab some for yourself. I also spent time talking to Jackie Newgent, RD, CDN, author of award winning Big Green Cookbook about Soy and will share the interview with you in the coming days.

So sorry I missed you at the conference last week! Its all such a blur and I feel like it went by in a flash. I did look for you at the SoyJoy stand on Friday afternoon … but didn’t find you. Sorry!
I did pick up a new blueberry bar but have yet to try it.
Hope you had a great time at the conf.!

Hi Sarah and thank you for your honest comment. I do recall trying these bars about maybe 1-2 years ago and not enjoying them nearly as much as I do now. If you prefer your bars to be very sugary and chewy, than these may not appeal to you. The new formula gives them a cookie-like consistency and because they are low sugar, they are not like a sweet dessert. If you try them, please let me know what you think.

That’s interesting to hear. So do these bars taste different than they used to? To be perfectly honest, I didn’t really care for the texture or taste of Soyjoy before. They’re such a good concept that I’d love to like them, but haven’t before. Maybe I’ll have to try them again. 🙂
